All About Me
Heyyyyy! It’s me Adriana and I’m here to share a little bit more about myself.
Now where do I start?
One cold winter day, I was born in Colorado. I assume it was cold because it was December… and well, Colorado. Anyway, I arrived a bit later than expected and I think that set me up for the life I was meant to have. Typically running late, but my entrance never goes unnoticed. Most of the time heads turn when I enter the room, but other times I sneak in like a sneaky little troll, muahahaha. I was born and raised in Colorado and always expected mountains facing West until I left Colorado for the first time when I was about nine years old. Anyone who was born and raised in Denver knows the culture shock you get when you go someplace new and there are mountains but they’re not in the west. You feel like your whole center of gravity is off and you have no idea where you’re at. Basically what I've been feeling since March 2020, off my center of gravity and not exactly sure where I am or what day it is.
I always remember being involved in many things as a kid. I wouldn’t say I was an overachiever in the sense that I was mastering everything I did, but I was highly involved and passionate about everything. I’m the all or nothing type- I know, I should probably talk to a professional about this but here we are. I remember from a young age being curious and artistic. I wanted to learn the most and I was such a great artist. Oh, I made masterpieces of art and when I played the Babushka in a kindergarten play, I gave it my all! I was also very excited to be friends with EVERYONE. I am a passionate person, I am excited to be involved, and I care so much about those around me. If I’m not giving something my all, I’m probably not interested in it.
I have a few keepsakes from my childhood with my aspirations for life, one of those keepsakes said “I want to be a fashio designer and teacher.” I mean I guess I kinda met that goal? I'm an acting teacher and I make masks #Fashion. I joined band in the fourth grade and for the longest time I wanted to grow up and perform in symphonies. I love music, it’s not only an escape for so many people but it really is its own language. I like to think its language is a continuation of the heart and soul. I knew I would never hold a spot in a symphony so I really settled at being just a mediocre music enthusiast and musician. I honestly don’t think I knew what REALLY wanted to be until I got my first big role in my high school’s spring musical. Working on a show and being on stage changed my whole perspective. I played Nina in In the Heights my junior year of high school, that show has meant everything to me ever since then. I connected with people in ways I didn’t know were possible. If you’re not in theatre, let me tell you that creating a show with other people is such a magical time. It’s beautiful, intimidating, and so memorable. I honestly will never forget that cast and creative team. It was that show that really inspired me in taking that leap really inspired me to pursue a career in theatre. I decided I want to ACT, baby! And let me tell you that is the most daunting decision I ever made, to pursue a career in theatre.
Now a little bit on how I found my love for travel and solo adventures. For my first solo trip I decided to go to New York. I attended BroadwayCon which is a Broadway convention and it was everything I was looking for. I would be surrounded with theatre enthusiasts and watch panels led by my favorite Broadway performers. I wish I knew what was going through my head when I decided to book that trip but I’m so glad that doubt didn’t scare me out of it. Since that trip, I have made it a mission of mine to go on at least one solo trip per year. So far, I have kept that promise! I love solo adventures of all kinds, local and outside of Colorado. So far I have traveled to New York, Maui, New Orleans, and up the Pacific Coast all on my own.
Through my small contributions to dance, music, and theatre I hope that my art can impact lives positively. I also hope through travel, I can appreciate and learn more about different people and places and share those experiences with you!
